My Decision Wheel is built local-first, which makes this policy short: your data stays on your device. Here is exactly what that means.

Your data lives in your browser

All wheels, coin flip settings, named saves, and spin history are stored in your browser's localStorage on your own device. Nothing you type into a wheel is uploaded to a server. We have no database of user wheels, and results are generated entirely in your browser — see Fairness & Randomness for how. If you clear your browser data, your saved wheels and history are deleted; we cannot recover them, because we never had them.

Share links

When you create a share link or QR code, your wheel configuration — entries, weights, and settings — is encoded into the URL itself. It is not stored on our servers, but anyone who has the link can see and open that configuration. Treat share links like the content they contain: do not put sensitive information (names paired with private details, passwords, confidential options) into entries you intend to share. Your spin history is never included in share links.

No accounts

There is no sign-up, no login, and no profile. We do not collect email addresses, names, or any other account information, because none is needed to use the site.

Cookies & local storage

To function, the site saves your wheels, spin history, saved items and interface preferences (such as language and light/dark mode) in your browser's local storage. This data is strictly necessary for the tools to work, stays on your device, and is never sent to us. We also use Google AdSense to show ads, which may set advertising and measurement cookies (see Advertising below), and optional anonymous analytics. The first time you visit, a short notice lets you accept or decline these non-essential cookies; your choice is remembered locally, and you can change it any time from the Cookie settings link in the footer.

Analytics

Analytics are disabled by default. If you choose to enable them, we collect only anonymous product events — for example, that a spin happened or a feature was used — to understand what to improve. We never collect the labels, entries, or any other text you type into wheels, and events are not tied to your identity.

Advertising

We use Google AdSense to display ads, which helps keep My Decision Wheel free. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads based on your visits to this and other sites. Google may use an advertising cookie to serve ads across the web; you can review and control this in your Google Ad settings, and learn how Google uses data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Ads never receive the entries, names, or other text you type into your wheels. In the EEA, UK, and Switzerland, ad and measurement cookies load only after you consent.

Changes to this policy

If our practices change — for example, if we add an optional sync feature or enable ads — we will update this page and change the date at the top before the change takes effect.
