Spin the Wheel

A simple way to make the choice

Use the wheel when several choices are genuinely acceptable and the discussion is taking longer than the decision deserves. Edit the list, remove anything that is not realistic, and spin once. Your entries stay in this browser and are never translated when you change the interface language.

Spin the Wheel — a free online random picker and decision maker

My Decision Wheel is a free spin-the-wheel generator that turns any list of choices into a fair random result. Add names, numbers, prizes, foods, or tasks, give the wheel a spin, and it lands on one option at random. It's built for classrooms, giveaways, games, team events, and everyday “you decide” moments — no account, no download, and everything runs privately in your browser.

What is a spin the wheel?

A spin the wheel — also called a wheel spinner, wheel of names, or random picker wheel — is a decision tool that selects one option at random from a list. The wheel is divided into segments, one per entry, and when it stops the pointer marks the chosen option. Because each entry is a visible slice, the draw feels fair, transparent, and unbiased to everyone watching.

Unlike a plain number generator, a spinning wheel is visual and interactive, which is why it's so popular for group activities, live streams, classrooms, and games. My Decision Wheel brings that experience online so you can build and spin a custom wheel in seconds on any device.

How to spin the wheel

  1. Add your options. Type each choice into the entries box, or paste a whole list at once with bulk paste. You can also import a CSV, add images, shuffle the order, or remove duplicates.
  2. Spin the wheel. Click the center of the wheel or press the space bar. The wheel accelerates, then decelerates smoothly and stops on one option.
  3. Read the result. The winning option pops up with a celebration. Spin again, copy the result, remove the winner so it can't win twice, or share the wheel as a link or QR code.

Popular ways to use a decision wheel

Classroom name picker

Teachers spin to choose who answers next, set participation order, or pick volunteers. Turn on no-repeat mode so every student gets a turn before any name returns. Try the random student picker.

Giveaway & raffle winner picker

Streamers and marketers spin to draw contest and giveaway winners live — the visible spin keeps the result easy for everyone to follow and trust.

Everyday decision maker

Settle what to eat, which movie to watch, or which chore to start with. The what to eat wheel and a quick yes or no wheel handle the small stuff instantly.

Party & group games

Pick the next player, team, or challenge. Randomness keeps games moving and fair for everyone — great for Truth or Dare, Would You Rather, and turn order.

Work & team randomizer

Choose presentation order, assign a first draft, or break a genuine tie between equally good options — a neutral last step after the real thinking is done.

Features

  • Weighted odds — give options different chances, with live probability percentages.
  • No-repeat & elimination modes — stop repeat winners, or spin down to a single survivor.
  • Image entries — add up to 40 pictures, stored locally on your device.
  • Share by link or QR code — the whole wheel travels in the URL; recipients land straight in the tool.
  • Custom themes, sound, and celebrations — match your setup and add fireworks on the win.
  • Two wheels at once and local autosave — pick two things together and never lose your setup.

Is the wheel truly random?

Yes. The winner is chosen with your browser's cryptographically secure random generator before the wheel starts moving, and every segment's size matches its real probability, so each spin is provably fair and impossible to predict. Read the details on the fairness page.

Private by design

My Decision Wheel is local-first. Your wheels, images, and spin history stay in your own browser and are never uploaded to a server — there are no accounts and no tracking cookies. It works instantly on desktop and mobile, and wheels you've opened keep working even without a connection. See our Privacy Policy.

Frequently asked questions

Is My Decision Wheel free?

Yes. Every feature is completely free, with no sign-up, no paywall, and no limits on how many times you spin.

Is the spin wheel truly random?

Yes. The winner is chosen with your browser's cryptographically secure random generator (crypto.getRandomValues) before the wheel starts moving, and each segment's size matches its real probability, so every spin is provably fair and impossible to predict.

Do I need an account or app?

No. My Decision Wheel runs entirely in your browser with no login and nothing to install. Your wheels autosave on your own device.

How many options can I add?

You can add hundreds of entries. For clear on-screen segments, most people use wheels with roughly 2 to 50 options.

Can I make some options more likely to win?

Yes. Turn on weighted odds and give each option a weight — the segment sizes and the real percentage chances update to match.

Can I add images to the wheel?

Yes. You can attach an image to any entry, up to 40 images. Images are downscaled and stored locally in your browser, never uploaded to a server.

Can I use it on my phone?

Yes. The wheel is fully responsive and works on phones, tablets, and desktops in any modern browser.

How do I stop the same option winning twice?

Use Remove winner after a spin, or turn on no-repeat mode to set winners aside automatically, or elimination mode to spin down to a single survivor.
